It is a misconception, if one believes that attending theatre in Greece was something like going to church. The show target was to entertain, to criticize the politicians, to teach history, to praise the ancestors and Gods of course. First class drama authors and directors have been persons of high respect and honoured just like the ambassadors.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="color:#333399;"&gt;They had close relation to the politicians, they achieved high ranks in the army, they handled the public opinion.
